| Ocean Conditions Links |

Here are just a few of the links we regularly use to help us decide whether or not to head to the coast. Of course, these are designed to be guides, and don't represent the exact conditions of wherever you're headed to dive. Always be sure to watch the ocean for at least 15 minutes before going in. Very often, large waves come in sets with long intervals of smaller waves in between. And remember, at the first sign of trouble drop your weight belt! You will float, be more comfortable, and can assess the situation better without the weight. In almost all instances of drowning, the divers have their weight belts in place. You can always replace the belt, you can't replace you. If you have a website you'd like to see posted here, please send us an email or give us a call. We're always looking for new info!
This page replaced the phone recording out at the Salt Point State Park ranger station. During abalone season, the page is updated daily, usually by 8am. Included on this page: wind speeds, swell size and interval form buoy reports in Bodega Bay and Pt. Arena, current surf size and forecast, visibility in Gerstle Cove, high and low tide info as well as forecast for the coming days or weekend.
Here you will find US Navy, NOAA, and Scripps University charts all in one place. The first chart on the page is a swell model with current swell size and prediction for the coming 48 hours. Many of the models are experimental and should not be used as your primary resource, however this is a very handy compilation of charts and forecasters to give you an idea of what's happening.
Same website as above but for the Monterey area. A great resource to the diving community.
Click Northern California to see a model of swell size and direction, wind speeds and more for the next few days.
National Data Buoy Center Check what's happening up and down the coast of California.
Possibly the most accurate resource for marine weather updates.
