The Sonoma Coast Divers family of instructors have over 30 years of experience training divers to safely explore the wonders beneath the sea. Our professional dive facilities are designed to meet the needs of any diver, from beginner to professional. Whether you're getting ready to start your adventure, or have been diving for many years, we have a class to suit your needs and interests!
Where to Begin Unsure if diving is right for you? Try Scuba is an easy introduction to the underwater world. A brief overview of skills, introduction to the SCUBA equipment and time to play in the pool under the supervision of an instructor might give you just the boost you need to get certified. Bring a friend and experience what all the fuss is about. A Scuba Skills Update or Refresher course is just the thing if you have been away from diving for some time. In the Scuba Skills Update you will have the opportunity to practice and review the scuba skills you learned in your Open Water Diver class and learn techniques that that may have changed since you were last in the water. You will have the opportunity to refresh your memory and motor coordination and practice your self-aid skills, all with the guidance of an instructor.
Continuing Your Diving Journey Choose from any of our Specialty Courses to customize your continuing dive education! With our one of a kind Continuing Dive Education Program you may choose from any combination of specialty courses to create a truly individualized Advanced Diver program scheduled with your needs in mind. Earn specialties and experience towards future certifications and gain knowledge and skills that make you a safer, more experienced diver! Our Stress and Rescue training course is designed to be a challenging and realistic experience where you learn how to address the hazards divers face. You'll learn the necessary information and skills to effectively assist an injured or tired diver, render proper first aid, manage diving accident situations, and learn what to do in an emergency. This course is a prerequisite for the Master Diver and all Professional Diver certifications, but many people find it simply gives them the confidence and experience they've been looking for to feel comfortable and prepared when they're diving.
Professional Diving Courses SSI's Dive Guide, Dive Master, and Dive Control Specialists organize, conduct, and supervise all sorts of recreational diving activities, like: guide divers on underwater tours from the boat or shore, assist SSI Instructors with Open Water and Specialty dive classes, running Fun Dives and other events, and teaching snorkeling and refresher courses. There are many options when it comes to being a professional diver, please come in to chat with us about your ultimate goals so we can get you started in the best program for you! Instructor Courses are available several times each year.
